Skingevity - VISIA Skin Analysis App
A live iPhone app that turns clinical VISIA skin scans into something a patient can actually read: scored metrics, trends over time, side-by-side comparisons, and a treatment plan they can book from.
We built Skingevity end to end and shipped it to the App Store — a SwiftUI client, a Supabase backend, and a direct integration with Canfield's VISIA imaging systems that pulls each scan and its feature imagery into the patient's hands automatically.
Project Overview
Challenge
A VISIA scan produces dense clinical output that patients rarely see again after leaving the clinic. The result was expensive imaging with no follow-through: no way to judge whether a treatment worked, and no obvious next step to book.
Solution
We connected directly to the clinics' VISIA systems and rebuilt the output as a consumer product — plain-language scores, per-metric trends, wipe-to-compare imagery, and a treatment plan that surfaces what is due, overdue and already done.
Impact
Skingevity is live on the App Store as a free Health & Fitness app under AIENGINE LTD, in use across partner clinics in London, Oxford and Birmingham. Scans now sync automatically from the clinic to the patient's phone, and the plan built by their clinician is the same one they see in the app.
Two Halves of One System
The app is the patient half of the product. Clinics work in a companion web portal that records analyses, builds plans and matches incoming scans to accounts — see the Skingevity Dashboard.
Key Features We Built
Clinical Scans, Made Readable
Every VISIA capture arrives as a scored breakdown of eight metrics — wrinkles, spots, pores, texture, UV spots, brown spots, red areas and porphyrins — sorted into what needs attention and what is already great.
Trends Across Every Visit
Each metric opens onto its own history, with 3-month, 6-month, 1-year and all-time views so progress between clinic visits is a line on a chart rather than a memory.
Side-by-Side Comparison
A draggable divider wipes between any two scans on the same facial view — left, frontal or right — with the detected areas highlighted and both scores on screen.
Treatment Plans That Track Themselves
Clinician-built plans appear as a milestone timeline with completed, due, overdue and upcoming states, treatment notes, and booking straight from the step.
Clinic Discovery and Booking
Verified UK aesthetics clinics with ratings, locations and treatment detail, so the path from an insight to a booked appointment stays inside one app.
Privacy-First by Design
Clinical imagery and skin data are handled under row-level access controls with a UK-GDPR-conscious model, and private accounts stay invisible to clinic staff.
